Try a piece of wax paper for your hook. When I wax my crochet hooks they always slide very nicely.

I had a pink and yellow (and white) variegated thread! It was probably an 8 weight, Star pearle cotton. I must have had no more than 50yds of it. I made it into a lace collar, and then realized how difficult it is to match it with clothes!

For sizing, I'm a decently full hourglass, (size M/L) but really short torso, so I'm thinking I should leave the length as is and just start with maybe 10 mors stitches per row? 4 or 5 on either end and thentry it on. I'm definitely plumper than your mannequin. I'd rather it be more full and flowy than too small

It might be a good skill to learn to diagram crochet patterns to get stitch repeats and stitch counts if needed.

There's actually a spinner you can get that will make it easy to thread the beads. It's not expensive at all.

When I needed to remove a bead from the middle of my work, I used a cutting plyer and just snipped it. I'm talking about the ones you had on each side on the first two rows. That purse is absolutely gorgeous! I always enjoy your videos.
